Camarin Residence

The room was clean, and the host was so kind and friendly. I loved the delicious homemade food he cooked. There's a little balcony overlooking the street, a peaceful spot to sit at night. The bugs were the only thing I hated. It's not the host's fault, though. Keep the window shut while you sleep or bring bug spray, unless you want to get bitten like I did, lol.

I had a nice, clean room in Kandy, with good furnishings. The man running the place was kind and very helpful. It's about a 15-minute walk to the lake. The street dogs made it a bit noisy at night.

Things went badly from the start. There's no parking, so you have to leave the car by the road. The building is congested and didn't look as pleasant as the photos. The rooms are right by the road, with no quiet and no view. The staff didn't seem to take responsibility either. I booked bed and breakfast, but the receptionist said he'd only been told to provide a bed and couldn't offer breakfast. I asked him to check and let me know that night, but he never did. In the morning, he said only bread was available, so we left without breakfast. I've rarely seen staff so irresponsible. I don't recommend it.

The owner was friendly, and breakfast coffee was better than what I've had at other places in Sri Lanka. Our double room was a bit small, but the terrace was spacious and had a nice view. The property borders the city park, so keep the windows closed because of the monkeys.
