The rooms are lovely, with stunning views, and the property is made for a slow walk among the trees. There’s a private plunge pool for each room as well as a larger pool under the trees. It’s a peaceful escape into nature. What stayed with me most was the care from the staff. We were the only guests, and they were warm and flexible with our requests, even as the resort family was still recovering from the cyclone after the disaster. That kind of attention sets a high bar for anywhere we stay in future. Because the resort is secluded, breakfast and dinner were included in our package. The first evening’s four-course meal was good, though there was so much food it felt like they thought we were competitive eaters. The next night we asked gently for a Sri Lankan vegetarian spread, and every dish felt thoughtfully made, with local, seasonal ingredients and a lovely balance of care and instinct. This place has my heart.

I enjoyed every moment here. The hotel is quiet, with lovely natural scenery, and the rooms are very clean, private, and comfortable. Staff were warm, friendly, respectful, and attentive to the details, which made the stay feel special. A peaceful place to unwind, and one I’d gladly recommend to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. For me, it’s the best hotel in Kandy.

5/5 for the views, 5/5 for the food, and somehow a million out of 5 for the service. The staff were among the friendliest people we’ve met and really went out of their way for us. They speak fluent English too. A special shoutout to the property manager, maybe Sameera? He was a true gentleman. Thanks again, legends. This is a must-stay for couples, families, or anyone travelling solo.

We had a great time here. The local vegetarian food was really tasty, and the hilltop setting comes with a lovely view. Staff are friendly, attentive, and caring. We also saw monkeys, mongoose, deer, and the resident chipmunks now and then. I’d recommend this place without hesitation.

The staff made the stay feel special from the start. After a long day, we were welcomed with a four-course dinner, and the breadfruit and coconut soup was one of the best soups I’ve ever had. As a vegetarian, I’m used to struggling to find satisfying meals, but Chef Pathiranage Dhanuska made special dishes for us. I tried Ambarella curry for the first time, and loved it. We had bitter gourd with coconut, banana blossoms, spinach daal curry, jackfruit curry, and more. One lovely moment was seeing the chef choose a jackfruit from the tree for our meal. The non-vegetarian dishes looked beautifully prepared too, and my dad enjoyed them. Fresh breads, rolls, and desserts rounded out the meals nicely. Athula was kind, observant, and respectful. He showed me how to mix curries with rice and string hoppers, turning lunch into a cultural experience. Kavindu’s gentle nature and warm smile made us feel at ease, and the whole team was thoughtful and caring. Manager Sameera V. Dissanayake was resourceful, and the well-kept property and happy staff reflect his leadership. Celestial Hills in Kandy was one of our best experiences in Sri Lanka. The villas sit among countless trees, with little plunge pools overlooking the forest and rolling hills. Birds sing, squirrels come by, and the villas are named for spices that grow around the property. We spotted cardamom trees while walking around. It feels deeply connected to nature, almost as if the land itself is healing you. Highly recommended for a luxurious stay grounded in real care and kindness. One practical point: it’s away from the city center, so eating dinner on-site and not heading out late is best.
