Easy Stay

For the price, we were happy with what we got. The rooms were a decent size and had good amenities. We mentioned to the owner that we hadn’t tried the famous Sri Lankan hoppers yet, and he made them for us for breakfast the next day 🫶🏼. The walls are a bit thin, but it works fine as a place to sleep for the night. My one change would be to have an actual duvet on the bed instead of just a sheet.

Easy Stay in Kandy was the worst part of my trip, and I left early to find a much better place for the same price. The photos and description had given me higher expectations, but the hotel didn’t match them. Check-in was slow and disorganized, and the staff didn’t seem interested in helping. My room was a letdown: the floors were dirty, there was a musty smell, and the bedding looked unchanged. The bathroom was poorly maintained, with weak pressure and hot water that came and went. The AC barely worked in Kandy’s humidity, and the Wi-Fi was almost unusable. Street noise and sounds from other rooms made it hard to sleep. What was described as a “city view” turned out to be a wall and construction debris. I expected more, given Kandy’s reputation for hospitality. Would not recommend.

I planned just one night at Easy Stay in Kandy while passing through, but ended up staying four nights after getting food poisoning and needing to extend my visit. The rooms were spacious and very clean, with AC and hot water, and the place is up on the hills with a great view and a quiet, convenient location. The owner, Irron, was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. He was so caring and accommodating, especially as I was staying alone in Sri Lanka for the first time. When he was fully booked, he even helped me find a room at another nearby hotel. You’ll be in great hands staying with him in Kandy. Thank you so much, Irron. See you soon!

The host was super friendly and helped us a lot when we had to extend our stay because of the cyclone. Our room was modern and comfortable, with a good shower, fridge, TV, and good WiFi. Breakfast was very good and had plenty of options.
