Dinner here was so good, fresh, and served in huge portions. We were welcomed with fresh homemade juice too. The hosts were kind, helpful, and made us feel very welcome. The rooms have all the amenities you need, in a lovely quiet spot away from the busy city. From the balcony at sunset, you can watch hundreds of bats leave their roosts every day. For me, that was a once-in-a-lifetime sight.
The food was affordable, and breakfast was excellent. I also liked the shower. The hosts were pleasant and welcoming, and ready to help whenever needed. It was nice staying here.
The room is basic, but just right for the price. The food is great and the portions are generous, and the family at Lalanga are so welcoming that you feel at home. It’s a peaceful location a little outside Kandy, so keep that in mind, though Tuktuks to the centre are reasonably priced.
The family running Lalanga were so kind that I felt really well looked after. I've been travelling for over six months, and this is one of the best home stay experiences I've had. I arrived to a cool compress and fresh juice, then found a huge, very clean bedroom and bathroom. There was hot water and a lovely little bar of soap. I had dinner as well as the breakfast included with my stay. Both were delicious, and the portions were huge. If you're in Kandy, I'd stay here, especially if you want to be a little away from the city's hustle and bustle.
I really enjoyed the four days I spent with the family. They treated guests with respect, were very hospitable, and charged family prices. I was happy with the location too: far enough from the city to sleep peacefully, but close enough that getting to the centre each day wasn't a problem. A bus from a nearby bridge took me there for 50 rupees. As requested, I had fruit for breakfast, and dinner was tasty and huge. Thanks as well for the Sunday outing to the market and a tea factory. Take care, and see you soon.
