Hotel Ganthera Kandy’s spacious hall gave our book launch, ‘Sala Nisala’, a calm, lovely setting. Held on October 25, 2025, the event went very well, and the team’s attention and support played a big part in that. The food was delicious and our guests enjoyed it. We also appreciated the reasonable charges for the quality of service. Throughout the planning and event, the staff were polite, efficient, easy to reach, and flexible whenever we changed our plans. They made us feel like family and provided the help we needed. I’m very grateful for all their hard work. The positive feedback from attendees reflected the care the team put in, and I’d happily recommend Hotel Ganthera Kandy to others organizing events. I hope we can work together again. Thank you for the hospitality and support.

The staff were lively and clearly trying their best, which makes me feel sorry for them, but I’d never come back or recommend this place. It was very disappointing. There was damp everywhere, especially in the bathroom. The shower looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months, with mould from ceiling to floor, and the rundown area was mouldy too.

The food was delicious, and we found the staff and manager very welcoming and ready to help. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well looked after, which made the stay relaxing. We had a wonderful time at Hotel Ganthera in Kandy and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting. Comfort, service, and hospitality all came together nicely.

Diwenda, the bell boy, was friendly and helpful, and Rimzan arranged tasty Indian vegetarian food served hot on our second day. On the day we checked in, though, the rice was undercooked and cold. We stayed two nights at hotel Ganthera, and also had water leaking in the bathroom. The hotel is tucked away, but getting there is manageable if you have your own or a rented vehicle. I recommend a visit.

The staff were friendly, the rooms decent, and Manager Mr.Rimzan was very helpful. That’s what earns the three stars. There’s still plenty that could be improved: our restroom was old-looking and had a water leak. Dinner came cold and undercooked, and the food tasted average.
