The Kandy Cottage gave us very good value for money, and we’ll remember the hospitable service, traditional meals, and support during our stay. It’s a lovely choice for anyone wanting a quiet holiday surrounded by nature. The bungalow sits at an ideal elevation above Kandy city, in a picturesque neighborhood, and is an old colonial residence thoughtfully landscaped for guest comfort and recreation. It’s about a 10-minute drive from the city. We had a great experience and found it well worth a visit.

The birdsong and wild deer roaming freely made this peaceful Kandy retreat feel like a home away from home. We fell for Kandy Cottage as soon as we arrived. Our host Thomas welcomed us so warmly and shared insights about Sri Lanka and its magic. He was a wonderful host, and we’re grateful for the true Sri Lankan hospitality. For an average-priced one-night stop, it’s a fairly basic setup: an old heritage-style building, three guest rooms, and a lawn. It’s away from the city, with more of a homestay feel, and the two gentlemen managing it were always ready to help. Thomas and his service, dinner and conversation, good value, and fast Wi-Fi were the strong points. The walls are paper thin, though, so my noisy kid inevitably disturbed other guests. The doors creak, and there isn’t much privacy. A good one-night stay.

It was a pleasure staying in this old colonial house, with its atmosphere and all the comforts a tourist needs. The house is beautifully kept and well located, close enough to walk to Kandy’s main attractions while still being in quiet, green surroundings. Mr. Thomas is very nice and helpful.
