Lake Reach Residence

The loft was a lovely spot to sit and relax, and the rooms were very clean, with fresh towels and sheets and a hairdryer in each one. Nedra was so hospitable and helpful. Kelly, their dog, is the sweetest, most adorable creature and follows you everywhere. Right in front of the lake and in the heart of the city, this is the best place to stay in Kandy!

We stayed here on 24-25 June 2017 as a group of three families, and booked three rooms. Since the fourth room wasn't booked that weekend, it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The holiday home is spacious and right in the heart of Kandy town. Guests have the upstairs, while the owner lives downstairs, but there's no privacy issue. There are four rooms, two large enough for four adults, plus a shared kitchen, dining area and living room. The bathrooms were clean, and the kitchen had all the utensils you'd need to cook. We saved ourselves the trouble and went to the large food court at the nearby Kandy City Center instead. The Temple of the Tooth, or Daladaa Maaligaawa, is around three Km's away. A shaded walk around the lake, with a breeze in your face, makes the distance feel shorter.

We only stayed one night, but absolutely loved the place. It's within walking distance of the city center, and the hosts were so nice. We really connected with them and got a taste of what a Sri Lankan family is like.

The homestay is 500 m from both Sri Dalada Maligawa and Kandy Museum, and 300 m from Lakeside Adventist Hospital. Bandaranaike International Airport is 84 km away. There’s free WiFi and private parking, plus a 24-hour front desk and car hire. All rooms have private bathrooms; some have a seating area, and some look out over the mountains or lake.
