The breakfast was a lovely bonus, fresh rotti, string hoppers, lentil curry, and properly spicy coconut sambal. The monkeys turning up in the back garden were another fun surprise. The hotel itself was clean and nicely designed, with a lovely balcony view. A couple of things made the stay less comfortable: dogs from nearby places barked and kept me from sleeping, though that’s outside the hotel’s control, and I would’ve preferred a proper quilt to the fleece blanket.

The staff sorted out dinner and a taxi for us and were incredibly helpful. We had a spacious, modern room with lovely views. A great place to stay in Kandy if you’re spending a while there. Highly recommend.

We liked the clean, comfortable room, the lovely view from the foyer balcony, and the excellent breakfast at a reasonable price. But breakfast led to an awkward surprise. When we checked in, we specifically asked the owner if it was included, and he said yes. My husband and I both understood that clearly. After breakfast on the second day, we were handed a bill. We were very surprised, so make sure you confirm the breakfast arrangement with the owner when you check in.

The view from the hotel lobby was gorgeous, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke good English. My simple room had everything I needed for two nights. There was no aircon, but the fan was right above the bed, so that was fine. Great value.
