Mirage Kandyan Heights

Mirage Kandyan Heights is up in the hills above Kandy, so you get fantastic views, but you'll need transport to reach the city or go sightseeing. It was easy to arrange a tuk-tuk or driver. Our room was spacious, clean, and nicely furnished, with fast WiFi across the whole property. It worked well for getting some work done or making a video call home. The friendly, outgoing staff took care of everything and the service was 10/10. The restaurant was fairly priced and the food was excellent. Everything we ate, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, was properly cooked and beautifully presented, like something you'd expect at a name brand resort. The chef clearly cares about the meals. I'd happily return to Kandy and would recommend this mountain resort style stay. Another big thank you to the owner and staff for such impressive service.

We absolutely loved our stay. The rooms are spacious, and the view of the cliff is beautiful. The staff were considerate, quick, and helpful, and really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The food was the highlight, too. Chef madhu made a delicious spread to suit our preferences and left no stone unturned. This was probably the best meal we had in sri lanka, including kandh, sigiriya, trico and dambulla.

The restaurant manager stood out during our one-night stay. He was attentive, welcoming, and focused on service. We enjoyed nearly everything, though the food is a matter of personal taste. For us, the menu leaned too European, and we’d hoped for more local dishes and flavors.

The food was fresh and nicely cooked, though we found it a little underseasoned. The reception team kindly arranged drinks for us at cost, as the hotel doesn’t have an alcohol license yet. We loved the peaceful setting. You can hear Buddhist prayers from what seems to be a nearby temple, which adds to the atmosphere. The garden follows the hillside in several levels, with shady, private spots to sit and take in the view. It’s lush, clean, and well kept. There’s also an infinity pool overlooking the city, open 7am to 7pm. It was clean and no more than 4 ft deep. Our room was spacious and spotless, with tasteful decor, a large clean bathroom, and a balcony with chairs facing the garden. A few cute monkeys sometimes came by. We’d absolutely recommend staying here for a quiet visit to Kandy.
