It’s a small family home with just four rooms, so it felt cozy and quiet. Our room was huge, comfortable, nicely decorated, and spotless, and the bathroom was just as clean. From the top of the hill, the views across Kandy are spectacular. Getting into the city center could be tricky at times because it’s a bit far and transport wasn’t always easy to find. The caretaker was very attentive and helpful throughout. A lovely choice if you want a peaceful place with great views and a welcoming feel.

A calm, very nice place to stay. The bedding was comfortable, and the room was clean too. Take Hanthana road for easier access.

We really loved the view from the Double Room with Balcony at Misty Hills Villa. The owner was friendly and accommodating, and let us check out at 6pm for an extra fee when we asked. The caretaker was welcoming as well, which made the stay even nicer. We’d happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Kandy. The villa is up a pretty steep road. Pickme or Uber can get you into Kandy City center, though finding a ride after 10pm may be difficult. The TV channels weren’t working while we were there.

Mr. Bandara, who looks after the place and cooks, was excellent at helping us during our visits and arranging lovely meals. Both the service and the views were stunning. The hotel sits in the Hanthana mountain range, with views of nearby mountains, the plateau, and the distant Kandy area ranges. One caution for the drive: the roads down to the hotel aren’t suitable for low-clearance vehicles, and driving one could damage your car. Apart from that, we had a wonderful stay and look forward to coming back.

The host suggested the Pekoe Trail, and the hike was really overwhelming. He said most people don’t stay long in Kandy, but there’s definitely enough to do to make a longer visit worthwhile. We spent four days here and loved waking up to the view. The rooms were amazing, mixing a modern feel with a cozy wooden ceiling and furniture. The host and caretaker were lovely and gave us lots of useful tips about Kandy. The caretaker even cooked dinner for us, and it was super delicious. We’d come back anytime.
