Even though we arrived at midnight, they still checked us in. The owners were so kind, helpful, and patient, and the place was spotless and tidy. The rooms are huge for such an affordable price. I slept more comfortably than I have in ages, even compared with much more expensive hotels. It felt like home, and I wish we could have stayed longer instead of going elsewhere. Thanks, Palitha, for a lovely experience. I’d love to come back soon.

Breakfast was a real plus, it was huge and kept us going for the day. Our room was spacious and clean, and the location was pretty decent. Since Kandy is relatively cool compared with Colombo and similar places, there was no air conditioning, but the wall fan was more than enough for us. Most of the staff were polite and helpful. At times, though, we got the impression we were expected to do certain things, without feeling pressured. It also sometimes seemed as if our plans and movements were being watched, though that could just have been our perception. Overall, the accommodation was comfortable, clean, and a good base for exploring Kandy.

We were a group of 10 adults and 2 kids, and the owner and his wife gave us a really warm welcome at old town hotel last weekend. They helped in every way they could and arranged a lovely breakfast just as we requested. The service was outstanding, the rooms and washrooms were very clean, and it’s close to Kandy centre. Good value for money, would highly recommend.

The room was spacious, with a nice view in a residential area, and we got complimentary breakfast on our last day. A few practical issues, though: the wifi didn’t work on the first night, there were no sockets by the bed, and there was no ceiling fan, just two table fans. Staff couldn’t be reached after 10 pm, and payment was cash in LKR only.

The breakfast really is superb, just as other reviews say. For an economical stay, this place is hard to beat: it’s close to town, family friendly, and the owner is understanding. The service is more than enough for the price. We’d definitely come back if we visit Kandy again.
