The view is breathtaking, looking out over Kandy, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. Staff gave very good service, helping efficiently without being pushy or interrupting. Breakfast was good, as was the coffee. There's a tuk-tuk service if you'd rather skip the walk up and down the hill and get into town quickly.

Buena Vista hotel is a lovely, peaceful place on the hill just above Kandy, a good choice if you want to stay on the city's outskirts. Breakfast on the patio is a treat, with a view across the whole town, so leave yourself time to enjoy it. The rooms are simple but comfortable and reasonably priced. The hotel can arrange a Tuktuk driver for the 10-12mn ride into town and back, and the staff are very helpful if you need shopping assistance or want to tour Kandy.

There are only 3 rooms in this traditional single level house, which is nicely decorated throughout. The elevated position gives great views of Kandy and the surrounding area. Rooms are spacious and clean, with views, and you can sit in the Verandah or courtyard for the scenery or sunrise. We had both breakfast and dinner on the Verandah, and the food was very good, especially the traditional Sinhalese new year dish of milk rice. We had a lovely stay.

Waking up to that stunning view every day was a highlight, along with the good food and very friendly service. The gentlemen here were especially welcoming, and the room was comfortable. My wife and I had a great time. Sri Lanka at its best!

The kind staff helped arrange a TukTuk, and the ride up the hill took 5min. It's quiet and peaceful up there, with a lovely view, which is what makes the location special. Breakfast was OK. Simply perfect, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
