The Flame Tree Estate&Hotel

The infinity pool, with its direct forest view, was a highlight and such a peaceful place to unwind. There’s also a well-equipped gym, and breakfast was very good. Our room was generous in size, while the bathroom was spacious, clean, and modern. The view was breathtaking and stayed with us. The hotel sits in a lush forest setting in a serene area, and the natural surroundings are impressive. Staff were friendly, attentive, and professional, adding to the comfortable, relaxing feel. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet nature stay and a distinctive experience. Thanks for everything.

Our big family group had this amazing place to ourselves, and it was hard to leave. Staying at Flame Tree Estate was one of our favourite parts of two weeks in Sri Lanka. The rainforest surrounds the property, and waking to nature sounds and wild monkeys playing in the trees outside our room was incredible. We’d read lots of glowing reviews and still ended up blown away. The personal service, food, atmosphere, and the dogs were all wonderful. We loved dinner under the stars, a guided estate walk to see plants and spices, and a village walk one morning. The wildlife, pool, rooms, owner, and the place’s eclectic, luxurious but homely style all made it feel one of a kind. I’d absolutely recommend spending a few nights here.

The food was among the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka, and the staff were welcoming and really helpful with onward travel plans. Our spacious, clean room looked out across the valley, with amazing views. It’s an incredible place in a wonderfully distinctive setting.

We’ve just come back from our third visit to Flame Tree Estate, this time for two wonderful weeks. My wife and I are in our fifties and have stayed in plenty of beautiful places, but none compares. The estate is stunning, with jungle views from the pool that take your breath away. The food and atmosphere are lovely, but the people are what make the place special. From arrival, they treat you like friends and family, and the staff’s genuine kindness is unlike anything we’ve experienced elsewhere. A heartfelt thank you to Mr David, Mr Angelo, Mr Ranjan, Lahiro, Nandana, Manju, Thamod, our wonderful housekeeping ladies including Jasika, the night watchman, the gardeners, and Mr Kasun, one of the kitchen stars. I’m sorry I don’t know everyone else’s names, but we think of you all often. We miss you already.
