Regent Lodge Kandy

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and even let us check out late. They made the stay comfortable, and I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who said the lodge was designed by iconic Sri Lankan architects and has a Greek charm. It’s been around for about three decades and has recently changed management. The property is tucked away in what seems to be an affluent neighborhood, judging by the houses. A few things could be better. My toddler found little knick-knacks tucked into corners that I think a thorough clean should have caught. The air conditioners may need servicing, since the room smelled pungent when one was running. Better to air it out and use the fan. The meals felt overpriced for what was served: rice, dhal, one vegetable, and chicken curry for Rs. 1700. Drinks were somewhat more reasonable.

The breakfasts were really delicious, and the view is lovely. It’s an airy, beautifully decorated hotel outside the busy city, with staff who do their best to make sure you’re comfortable and happy.

We meant to stay just one night and ended up staying four. It’s such a quiet, beautiful place in Kandy, and we found it really relaxing. The food and architecture were amazing. Would recommend, and I’d definitely stay again!

The rooms are big and clean, with a nice view, and the place feels so relaxing, almost like home. Everyone was very friendly, from the manager to the cook, and the food was tasty. It’s good value for the money, and I highly recommend Regent Lodge. We hope to visit again. Keep it up!
