The complimentary Tea Factory tour and tasting were the best parts of our stay. We also had a tasty continental breakfast, with a nice range of choices, and the staff were friendly and ready to help. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed, with a little touch of luxury. Glenloch Hotel and Tea Factory is a great place to spend the night. We came by local bus and asked the driver to let us off nearby. The next day, we caught another bus at the corner on the right, or near the food restaurant on the left.

The tea tasting, gift shop, and small plantation visit came after a really enjoyable tour. We were given woven baskets and got to try picking tea leaves the proper way, which was fun. Our guide was a lovely young woman who spoke excellent English. She patiently explained each part of production, from picking and drying through sorting and grading. It was a pleasant visit, and the shop prices were very reasonable.

This hotel feels run down, like it may have been grand once but is underused now. Our room was extremely mouldy, dusty, and smelly. The odor gave us bad sinus problems, and we couldn’t sleep at night. There was no hot water for the shower, which is a serious problem in Nuwara Eliya’s cold weather.

The tea factory tour and tasting were a real treat, and the stay itself was calm and scenic. We were surrounded by lush tea plantations, with clean, cozy rooms and very friendly staff. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who loves nature.

The highlight was the tea factory tour. Pushpika did a great job, explaining everything in perfect detail, and the tea tasting was nice too. Breakfast was okay, and the view was lovely. The rest was pretty average. The WiFi worked reasonably well but was out in the morning. The receptionist didn’t answer calls promptly. Our bed linen had several stains, the bathroom wasn’t cleaned or maintained well, and there was no TV remote.
