Tearamb Holiday Bungalow

We’re definitely coming back. The owner is such a lovely, welcoming lady, and the food was the best we’ve had anywhere we stayed. Dinner was amazing, and breakfast was generous and fabulous, served on a veranda surrounded by lush vegetation. The setting and food were both wonderful. We did notice the poor kitchen helper had to jump on his scooter twice within 20 minutes, first to get us beer, then to buy Coke for another guest. It made us realize we should be careful how we ask for things. Chef, please don’t leave!

A really comfy place for family bonding, and Nuwara Eliya city is only an hour away.

The food was outstanding, especially the authentic Sri Lankan dishes and their preparation. Staff were helpful and hospitable, and the rooms, bathrooms, and surrounding area were all very clean. For the cost, it’s a comfortable place and good value. The nights were extremely chilly, so there was no need for AC, though it gets quite warm during the day. It’s a lovely place and definitely worth what it costs.

A great overnight stop on the Pekoe Trail after a day of hiking in the heat. We got a Tuk Tuk from the end of Stage 3, and the ride took only about five minutes. The room had everything we needed, with a comfortable bed, hot shower, and a nicely decorated, clean space. The hosts were fantastic and made the stay memorable. We had authentic Sri Lankan dinner and breakfast, with more food than we could finish.
