Whisky Point Surf Cabana

The pool was nice, and the rooms were big with comfortable beds. Food was good too. The bathrooms weren't up to standard, though, and it's too far from the strip at A’bay.

The rooms are all family rooms, with a comfortable king bed, an extra single, and lots of space. The attached bathrooms are roomy, bright, very clean, and have a fridge and tea and coffee facilities. Upstairs rooms come with a large balcony, while downstairs ones have a small terrace. Room 01 has the best ocean view. The quiet setting, lovely grounds, and paddling pool section make this a great fit for families. The well-kept pool overlooking the ocean is a real highlight. The food was delicious, and Amal and the staff were very friendly. The atmosphere feels magical.

There are some lovely things here: a beautiful beach, a great pool, a big room with A/C, a sea view, a large balcony, a fridge, and a quiet, relaxing setting. With better service and attention to detail, this could be an amazing resort. Our arrival felt unwelcoming, with poor communication and customer service. There was no dinner because there was no chef, but we weren't told until we tried to order that night. The menu was limited, with half the dishes unavailable. The room wasn't clean, and old food had been left in a cupboard. There were mugs and a kettle, but no tea or coffee, and we had to ask for soap. Crows were noisy all day and night. Arugam Bay's shops and restaurants are a 25-30 minute drive away, while a couple of scattered local restaurants are a 25-45 minute walk.

A calm place to enjoy, with a really awesome swimming pool. The service was good for negotiating, and the pool is available for children too. Their rest rooms are still under construction.
