Ramboda Holiday Inn

The young couple who own the business are delightful and clearly work hard to make it feel comfortable and homely. I stayed there last week, just after Stage 4 reopened with a new route. It’s a great place at the end of Stage 3 or start of Stage 4 of the Pekoe Trail, only 100m from the trail end/start. My room was very clean, with a comfortable bed, ensuite bathroom, and hot shower. Stunning view, delicious food, and attentive service.

The breakfast was huge and delicious, so we were ready to continue on Stage 4. We stayed after Pekoe Trail Stage 3, and the young couple who own the place welcomed us warmly and politely. Our mountain view room was lovely, and dinner was tasty, generous, and very well priced. The service was so good, we felt treated like kings and queens, truly. They noticed the little details and made our stay special. Both owners are kind and warm, and doing a great job. Wishing them all the best with the young business and everything else. Keep going like this.

We were cycling across Sri Lanka on a tandem and stayed one night at Ramboda Holiday Inn while heading up the mountain towards Ella. The couple who greeted us were lovely, and the food was good. But there was rubbish in the hallway, the table was sticky, and our blanket smelled really bad. The whole place needs a good clean. I wanted to give them five stars, but it was too dirty to overlook.

The mountain view from our comfortable room was beautiful, and my wife and I had a wonderful stay. The young couple running the hotel were friendly and welcoming, and they made delicious food for us. Highly recommended if you’re visiting kothmale.
