Airport City Hotel Katunayaka

The food was really tasty, though expensive. I went with family to Al Amra Periyamulla, the restaurant owner known for good food. They have washrooms, and the food didn't take long to prepare. The full chicken rice cost Rs. 1900.

We've been going to Airport City Restaurant once a week and usually get excellent service from the staff in training, but today's visit was really disappointing. A simple fried rice took more than 30 minutes. There was a pregnant woman in our group, so we politely asked if she could eat some food from our own lunch box while waiting. They refused in a very heartless way. I raised it with the manager, who handled things unprofessionally. Another staff member joined in and said, “Even if you bought food worth 50,000, you will not get permission.” Since they wouldn't allow it, I sent the pregnant woman to our vehicle to eat there. I ordered another dish, but after more than 40 minutes it still hadn't arrived. When I complained again, the manager, who introduced himself as the owner, Charles, didn't even apologise for the inconvenience. His attitude was extremely unprofessional. The whole experience was unacceptable. I don't recommend this place. The staff showed no professionalism, empathy, or basic understanding of hospitality.

We had dinner at about 1:30 in the morning for the first time. The place was nice and clean, the food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable for us. I think they use a lot of MSG, though, because we got thirsty a few minutes later. The staff member who served us was helpful and professional. I'd recommend the place.

The food here is amazing, with lots of different choices. The hotel is run by the famous AMRA LEAF negombo. What impressed me most was that during Ramadan they provide “FREE” food for suhoor and snacks for iftar in the holy month.
