The kitchen wasn’t clean or ready to use, and the fridge was filthy. There were ants in the drinking water dispenser, gecko poo on the crockery, and neither of the pedestal fans worked. The AC in room 5 was broken, and arranging someone to look at it wasted time while we moved out. It was never fixed. Several room door handles also didn’t work, and there was no soap or toilet paper anywhere in the house despite the listed amenities. The owner didn’t take our feedback well and accused us of breaking the fans. He said this was the expected housing standard for this type of accommodation. Most reviews seem to be from a while ago, and my experience was very different.

Very disappointing. Along with the other shortcomings, they hadn’t even bothered to clean the house.

Iroshi and her colleagues at the property gave amazing service. We had trouble paying in Rupies with the owner, who wanted to be paid in dollars, right after check-in. The rooms could also use something like mosquito nets to keep gekos and other animals out.

A lovely, clean and peaceful place, good for travelers. I loved it. Just make sure to agree on how you’ll pay before you arrive, since they only take cash.
