I had my best time in Sri Lanka here. The hotel is right by the sea, and I went swimming every day. It's a friendly place to hang out and has a good kitchen. The rooms are a little small and don't have AC, but the owner is very kind and friendly. It's inside the fort, with everything nearby, including a supermarket and restaurants.

Being able to step straight from the room onto the beach was a real highlight. I also got to help the owner bring in the fishermen’s nets one morning and look through their overnight catch. He was one of the kindest, most helpful people we met in Sri Lanka, and went out of his way just because he’s a good person. It felt warm and genuinely local. The place is basic, though. There were a few bugs, which may be hard to avoid in a small beach house, no AC, and a pretty hard bed. We enjoyed our stay, and I’d recommend it to adventurous travelers who aren’t looking for luxury.

The host is the real highlight here, such a lovely person, and he even lent me a bike to explore the city. Matara is busy even though it doesn’t get many tourists, so this place was a quiet, comfortable break. I’ll remember watching the sunrise on the beach right in front of the hotel. It isn’t a luxury stay, but the room was just what I expected.

A lovely spot with the beach right behind it. The owner’s friendly and easygoing too. Had a really nice stay, and I’d recommend it to budget travelers.

The beach is just outside, and the area feels peaceful, with hardly any tourists around. The owner was always there when I needed anything, and we had some really interesting conversations. My room was clean and nice, with its own bathroom, and the price was excellent for what you get. I’d happily recommend it. :)
