Sobalee Holiday Resort

The peaceful atmosphere and cleanliness throughout Sobalee Holiday Resort really stood out, and the location made it easy to explore nearby. My room was spotless, nicely decorated, and had everything I needed. From arrival, the staff were welcoming, professional, and attentive. I had a wonderful, relaxing stay and would recommend it to anyone after comfort and good service. I look forward to coming back.

We came from the UK to Sri Lanka for a short holiday in Aug 2023 and stayed at Sobalee Holiday Resort while visiting Polonnaruwa. We travelled to many places in Sri Lanka, but our time at Sobalee, with its friendly and accommodating proprietor Dhammika, was the best part of the holiday. She was gentle and attentive to everything we needed. We had a blissful dip in nearby Minneriya lake, then village-style food on the banks. The food was out of this world! Thank you to Sobalee for arranging such a rare treat. It was a novel and grand experience for my teen son, who still cherishes the memory. The lush garden, paddy fields stretching beyond it, and constant birdsong made our stay feel perfect. The rooms were spotless and airy, with A/C and super comfy beds. The toilets were clean and had hot water, just right for a good sleep after an adventurous day. Thank you to Dhammika and family for the generosity, kindness, and hospitality. We stayed two nights. The service was superb, the food so delicious, and the prices reasonable. It’s a good place with a nice view.

A peaceful, calm place with greenery all around. The garden faces a large paddy field, and across the entrance road there’s a clean irrigation river. The kind, honest hospitality made it a really good place for a vacation. Seems well suited to families with kids or a group of friends.
