This was by far the filthiest and most unacceptable place of our entire trip, even though it was also the most expensive. Nothing like this had happened to us anywhere else in Sri Lanka. The toilet was full of black hair, and there were visible black shoe prints on the bed. Just revolting. We asked them to clean the room and were told to go out for dinner, as it would be taken care of. When we got back at 11 p.m., it was still dirty. On complaining again, a very aggressive man said we could change hotels if we didn't like the cleanliness. Telling us to leave at 11 at night, with a non-refundable Booking reservation, was outrageous and completely unacceptable. The treatment was rude, hostile, and unprofessional. This was the worst treatment we've ever experienced while traveling. Avoid this place at all costs.

The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and you can choose A/C or non-A/C. Breakfast is included, with omelet, toast, and fruit. Abey and Pushpa were lovely, caring, and helpful hosts, and Kumara was welcoming and helpful too. We'll come again.

The owner was friendly and accommodating, and kindly arranged a whale watching trip for us at a very reasonable price. Nearly everything we needed was within walking distance, and it's a very happening area. The room was clean with a cozy veranda. There's also a shared wash area outside for rinsing off after the nearby beach. The amenities provided were enough for us.

The hosts were lovely, the room was big, and town was close. Parking for our tuk tuk was handy too. They even went out and bought a kettle because I like making coffee before facing the world. There was a kitchen I could have used as well. Great value and a great little find.

The room they gave us stank of mold. It seemed dangerous for our health, and they shouldn't be allowed to rent out accommodation like that at any price. We canceled the booking and left.
