Dilara Resort Mirissa

The family were so kind, and my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our time here. Saying goodbye and leaving this little paradise was hard. Thank you for everything! 🙌🐢🌴❤️ The location is great, just 5 minutes from the beaches and the main street. Our room was big and very clean, and the bathroom was spacious and functional. We even had a balcony, with a net for hanging things up to dry. A small detail, but I loved it. We’d come back without hesitation!

This was the most unfriendly place we stayed in sri lanka. We dropped our bags off early because there was no early check-in, then came back in the afternoon and were met with “what do you want?” Nobody helped carry our bags upstairs. They showed us the room and walked off, and we didn't speak to them again until checkout. The owner never mentioned wifi, so I assumed there wasn't any. The room was big, but there were no shelves or places to put things, so our stuff had to stay on the floor. The one small bedside table was filthy. The bed was rock hard and uncomfortable, and there were two jumping spiders on it when we arrived. The AC was really loud. It was also noisy outside, so don't expect a lie-in. The location was good, about a 10-minute walk to the beach. The shower was okay, though it took five minutes to get warm. All in all, an unpleasant, awkward stay. I was glad to check out and leave, and wouldn't stay again. There are far better options in mirissa.

Dilara and her family were very hospitable. It was nice chatting with them over a cup of milk tea in the morning. For relatively little money, this is a great place to stay. I spent one night here and really enjoyed it. The room was clean and comfortable, with a hot shower with good pressure and a mosquito cover over the bed. There was a large balcony with lines for drying clothes, plus parking for a car.

We only stayed one night, but from check-in to checkout the service was top class. The family clearly care a lot about their guesthouse and couldn't do enough for us. The room was cosy, clean, and just right. We had to leave early for our boat tour, so missed breakfast. When we got back, they served us a magnificent spread of pancakes, toast, and fresh fruit. They also did our laundry, and it came back perfectly clean, dry, and smelling great. This guesthouse doesn't deserve the poor reviews it's had in the past. Please support this family and they'll treat you like Kings and Queens!
