The staff told us we had to leave our rooms at 5 a.m. for our whale-watching trip, saying we'd be back after the 11 a.m. checkout. The hotel's stated check-out time is 11 a.m. and check-in is 2 p.m., so being made to clear the room in the middle of the night made no sense. It disrupted our rest and left us without a room for hours. Poor management, and very disappointing. It affected our whole experience. We felt this happened because we hadn't booked the whale-watching trip through them and they didn't get the commission. I wouldn't recommend this place based on how they treated us and disregarded their own stated policies.

This is a simple, budget-friendly place with pretty good value for money. Being so close to the beach is a real plus and makes it easy to get around. Breakfast is very basic, so don't expect much variety. In my bathroom, the rain-shower head was fixed in place, and the water pressure was quite weak, which made showering a bit inconvenient. Aside from that, the stay was generally fine for the low price. A reasonable option if you want somewhere affordable near the beach and aren't expecting high standards.

The hotel management treated us very badly because we chose to look at other options instead of accepting the price they offered for whale watching. We were travelling with 7-10 elderly people who were visiting Sri lanka for the first time, and the reception we got here was awful.

The best thing about this place is the location. It's only a 3-minute walk to the beach, a great spot to relax by the sea. Prices were budget-friendly too, though make sure to bargain a bit! The room was alright, nothing fancy, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple, so don't expect a big spread. We weren't keen on the blanket, it felt more like a thin sheet.
