A very disappointing stay. The hotel is old and the room was poorly maintained: the shower didn’t work, the sink leaked, and there was no hot water. It didn’t feel comfortable or safe, so I’d advise families to avoid it. The owner should consider the maintenance.

The room was very large, and the property is a short walk from the beach, restaurants, and a supermarket. Those were the positives. The hotel looked much more worn than in the online pictures, and it needs considerable care. We wouldn’t stay again given the condition, noise, and lack of comfort. There was construction across the property, with materials left in the corridors. It started around 7am and made it hard to sleep or rest. The pool looked nice at first, but the surrounding floor was falling apart. Pool cleaning also began early and was extremely loud, adding to the construction noise. Our bathroom had visible mould and rust, and we had no hot water for the whole stay. Reception told us the hot water had “finished.” The bed creaked so much that it woke us whenever we moved. In Room 105, WiFi didn’t work, and there was no mobile data signal indoors. The sockets were also awkward to use because plastic wall fittings stopped plugs from fitting properly. We booked a 90-minute full-body massage at the hotel for 7,500 LKR. It was uncomfortable rather than relaxing. The therapist kept bringing up personal matters about her family and finances, seemingly expecting a tip. Gaps in the curtains and dividers, with people freely entering and leaving the massage area, left me feeling exposed in my underwear. The staff were friendly enough, but didn’t go out of their way to help. Laundry was available for 800 LKR per kilo, though we didn’t use it.

I stayed from 11th-14th January 2026, and it was the worst hotel experience of my life. Breakfast came cold, and the pool was dirty and unsafe, with a broken deck. Management seemed very unprofessional. The room was poorly maintained: the main door lock was rusty, the bathroom lock didn’t work, the basin tap and shower were faulty, and the mattress was extremely uncomfortable. The AC was too weak to cool the room during the day. The worst part was being asked to pay 5,000 LKR for a basin water mixer that was already damaged and came apart during normal use. We only avoided paying because our local tour company helped us. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.

The room was clean and basically fine, but it was missing a few things, including slippers, a toothbrush, and toothpaste. Breakfast fell short of what we expected: it was very simple and took around 20-30 minutes to arrive. If you treat this as basic accommodation, it’s reasonable.
