Castle Colombo

You'd never guess this quiet, beautiful place was in Colombo. It has a romantic feel, and would make a lovely getaway around the city. The hosts were really friendly and nice. My room was pleasant, with a spacious bathroom and hot tub, complimentary tea and coffee, and a garden that felt fairly private beside the room. Highly recommended.

Nilu made the tricky arrival easier by giving me clear directions over the phone on my way to check in. The location is a little hard to find at first, and the only noise I heard came from a group of stray dogs outside. Otherwise, it's quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. The rooms were spacious and clean when I arrived, and there was hot water. Nilu was a great, flexible host. There's no food at the hotel, but you can use the shared kitchen to cook what you like. Free tea, coffee and milk are provided. My only suggestion for the future would be to add a small pool, which would make the relaxing atmosphere even better. This was my first stay at Castle Colombo, and I'll definitely come back on my next holiday.

It feels like a star-class hotel, with all the facilities you need, and it's a calm, quiet place to stay in Colombo. You'll need to order food from outside, so it's better to bring some in.
