Beacon Beach Hotel

The location is nice, but the hotel isn’t making the most of it. The staff were very unprofessional, the property wasn’t maintained, and there was a foul smell throughout. Food choices were limited and didn’t taste good. On the fifth floor, the second lift had been removed, leaving the opening completely exposed. There were no barriers or even warning signs, so someone could easily slip and fall through. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel under any circumstances. Avoid it.

I was put up here during a transit to Sydney, and this was a very disappointing first experience in Sri Lanka. It’s about 10 km from the airport, and I can’t believe Srilankan airlines placed us here. The rooms were below par, and mine was next to a room being painted. Staff could barely communicate in English and were hard to understand. The chef served two tiny chicken neck pieces with hardly any meat, a mountain of tasteless rice, and undercooked vegetables. The food was horrible. There was also a loud party with music at the pool, and nobody did anything to control it. Please don’t choose this hotel as a transit passenger.

I spent four peaceful days here on a solo beach getaway. The ocean views, calm setting, and lovely hospitality made it a perfect place. I’d definitely return.

The room was awful, and there weren’t enough towels. When we asked for more, the hotel didn’t have any. The service was very poor too. We ordered snacks such as samosas, but got sandwiches with just a cucumber and a slice of tomato. Sri Lankan Airlines put us here overnight after our flight was cancelled. It was late, and although the airline promised dinner, we ended up with a snack that wasn’t what we wanted.
