Jetwing Thalahena Villa

The friendly neighborhood dog quietly sitting with us by the plunge pool was one of the sweetest parts of the stay. It made things feel peaceful and homely. Kavindu also deserves a special mention for being so friendly, attentive, and committed to making us comfortable. We were welcomed with warm hospitality and excellent service from the moment we arrived, and the food was delicious. Jetwing Thalahena gave us a wonderful, relaxing stay.

We stayed at Thalahena Villa in August 2024, and the calm beachside view in the morning was a lovely way to start the day. The villa was spacious and beautifully designed, with plenty of room to unwind, and we loved swimming in the private pool while taking in the stunning view. Watching the gorgeous sunset was another highlight. The food was delicious and carefully presented, and every meal showed attention to quality and detail. From the moment we arrived, the place felt peaceful and inviting. It was one of our most relaxing, memorable trips, and we’d love to return. Highly recommended for a peaceful, luxurious escape!

The view and food were great, and both of our Butlers took good care of us. Mahinda gave excellent service and always went above and beyond for our needs. The pool deck and A/C could use minor repairs. We stayed in the Master bed room at Jetwing Thalahena Villas on April 16-17, 2025, and I highly recommend it for a family stay. The villa is across the road from Jetwing Lagoon, where you check in at the front desk before crossing over. As far as I remember, the only visible road sign is for Jetwing Lagoon, not the villa itself, so it’s easy to miss when driving. The villa is run under the main hotel for food and security.

The villa itself is nicely designed, but the service from the butler was poor. He struggled with English and kept appearing in our private space. He left his phone number on a note without even writing his name. We chose a private villa because we wanted privacy along with attentive care, and this didn’t feel like that. There was one master bedroom and two double rooms, with the butler staying in one close to ours. I had to walk past his room to get back to mine. Dinner was across the road at Jetwing lagoon, and it was dark when I returned. I couldn’t find the gate lock. The butler should have explained how to open it, or known I’d gone out and waited for us to come back. He only seemed useful for carrying luggage. The room wasn’t cleaned or replenished while we were out, and he never showed us where to go. At 11:27 am he came to ask for payment, even though we still had time before checkout and were enjoying ourselves. That interruption was unnecessary. This was far below what I expected from a Jetwing private villa.
