The beach is only a few meters away, and plenty of restaurants are within walking distance. The price is really okay for Sri Lanka. We had a lovely, relaxing time at this hostel. Edward was a wonderful, helpful host and welcomed us with a big smile. Thanks so much, hope to see you again soon.

There are so many flies around here. I’d suggest the beach about 2-3 km from the center, toward Unaweli. The beaches there are nice, though there are free-roaming cows and packs of stray dogs. In the “center” of Nilaveli, there are crowds of local Muslims and incredible dirt, both on the beach and around it. Places that boast booking ratings of 7 or more are really at most a 1.5, so expect dirt, savby, piles of garbage, burning sites, noise, vendors, and a strong smell. This accommodation is relatively clean, but it doesn’t understand tourism or know how to appreciate tourists.
