Chef Nishanth deserves appreciation for the cooking. The food was mouthwatering and delicious. Sharan was also helpful right from the start through checkout, and arranged what we asked for without hesitation. That kind of service makes you want to return. We booked through Agoda at the last minute and called to see if they could fit us in. They arranged two triple rooms for the price of two doubles, and even helped us with dinner we had bought elsewhere. Our rooms were spacious, with hot water, and since there were only two rooms on the second floor, we had the whole floor to ourselves. The staff were friendly and tried to meet our requests. Breakfast included both Sri Lankan and Western dishes. There’s a nearby kovil, so you may hear the morning pooja. For the price, I think it was worth it.

We were there last night with three families, and really appreciated the effort to provide such a lovely place to stay. We tried the Hybrid Virunthu platters together, which were delicious and very reasonably priced, especially for Christmas night. The staff on duty did their best to keep everyone happy and could use more support and resources to help maintain the property. Our room had a few maintenance problems: the toilet seat lid was missing, a light didn’t work, water leaked out of the bathroom and made the floor slippery, and the heater tap wouldn’t shut off completely.

I visited last June and came away very disappointed. Waiting more than an hour and a half for juice after ordering was frustrating, and there was little variety on the food and drink menus. The seafood lunch in particular was poor, and the hospitality and management also felt lacking. I’d suggest changing the chef and some administrative staff to improve the experience and service.
