Sea Zone Hotel Nilaveli

The family who runs the hotel were so kind and welcoming, and we had some lovely conversations with them. We stayed four nights and were very happy with everything, especially the clean rooms and relaxed atmosphere. The beach is an easy walk away, and there’s usually a Tuk Tuk nearby if you need one. They arranged a dolphin and snorkeling trip for us and organized a driver for when we left. We’d happily return. Thanks for the wonderful stay and the motorcycle ride :)

The garden was nice, and the location is good for getting to the beach. But at around 20 000 rupees a night through expedia, I expected a bit more than this very basic budget hotel offered. There was no toilet paper, hand soap or other toiletries, and no hot water. We also had no room service, kettle, or mini fridge, and the bed had no fitted sheet.

We were touring Sri Lanka with our family and wished we could have stayed longer at Sea Zone Hotel in Nilaveli. The son and father helped us arrange transport and activities, and the rooms were spotless for excellent value. Since it’s family-run, the welcome felt like staying with friends. The mother made a delicious breakfast each morning and gladly adjusted it to our preferences. She also cooked us a tasty homemade dinner when we asked, full of love. A warm, authentic place that we’d recommend.

A little moment in the yard made this stay especially memorable: we washed our rented car together with the hosts and had a good laugh. They were kind, always smiling, and ready to help, and their family business has a real homely feel. It’s a pleasant, clean place just a short walk from the beach. We’d love to come back for the peaceful atmosphere and the care they put into the place.
