The service, food, upkeep, and hospitality from the people managing the place were a disgrace. It’s sad to see such a beautiful property with so much potential receive so little care. The staff didn’t introduce themselves and weren’t properly dressed, wearing what looked like their own jackets and bathroom slippers. The gardens were beautiful and manicured, but not cared for, with garden tools left scattered around the lawn. The building itself is astonishing, an old place with the quaint charm and splendour of the Scottish highlands. Inside, the design is whimsical, tasteful, and beautiful, even if it was done a while ago.

Darshan was kind and helpful during our stay. It’s a spacious cottage with a beautiful lawn and a British vibe. There’s also a great restaurant, “Dushan’s Home Kitchen”, within walking distance.

The only problem started before we arrived. The person handling our booking was rude and extremely unhelpful. We were sent a menu to choose meals from, but after making our choices, we were offered very limited options. She kept sarcastically saying it was a 'boutique' hotel and that this was how they ran it. The 'boutique' hotels I’ve stayed at have gone out of their way to accommodate meal requests, so the exchange left a bad taste. Once we arrived, the hotel staff helped us relax, and that was our only issue in an otherwise wonderful stay. The bungalow is lovely, close to the center of Nuwara Eliya, and nicely renovated while keeping the rooms' old school beauty. The bathrooms are more modern and have all amenities. We loved the ambience and surroundings. The staff were friendly and helpful, always seeing to our needs, and the food was really good. We enjoyed all our meals. I’d recommend Craigbank for a relaxing stay in the hills.

We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days after one of our tour operators referred us to the property. We wanted to relax and enjoy ourselves, and that’s exactly what we did. We travel often and usually check into 4-5 hotels, but our experience at ANILANA CRAIGEBANK BANGLOW, BOUTIQUE HOTEL was tremendous. The clean room, care, quality food, beautiful presentation, and friendly service made us feel comfortable and at home. Great hospitality! Since we were an all-women group, Mr. Dharshana took special care to arrange reliable transport for our city tour. Thank you, Ravindu, for being so attentive and making a special Bon-Fire to keep us cozy. We enjoyed the chef’s special dishes, and the fresh fruit platters and desserts were beautifully presented. I sincerely thank Mr. Dharshana, Ravindu, and our Chef for making our stay memorable. See you all soon again. I’ll surely recommend this property to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy an english style holiday!!❤
