Araliya Red

The spacious, comfortable rooms and the hotel's atmosphere made parts of the stay pleasant, but service was poor at several points. We arrived as a group of around 150 and found plenty of staff at reception, yet nobody greeted or helped us. Dinner and breakfast were frustrating too: there were too few servers, and we had to ask for items one at a time, with long waits. Some amenities seemed old or broken as well. Better maintenance and upgrades would help the overall experience.

Breakfast ended up being the highlight for us, with a huge range including a fresh fruit platter, coconut roti, egg hoppers, and fish curry. The evening buffet was another strong point, with plenty for vegetarians and meat lovers, better food quality than a typical buffet, and quick, attentive service. It felt like good value, and we left very full and happy. At Araliya Red, our room was spotless, the big bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, and small touches like the chocolate made a difference. The modern, chic design, fast WiFi, and amazing shower pressure all added to the stay. If you're after top-tier service, this place exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend for leisure travellers, 10/10!

Mr. Mukarram in the restaurant deserves a special mention. He was consistently smiling, friendly, and professional, and gave every table the same high level of service at both breakfast and dinner. Even when things were busy, the staff handled everything with care and did their best to keep guests happy. We found the rooms comfortable and well maintained, and enjoyed the meals. The front desk made an excellent first impression on arrival, while the security team were friendly and professional and made us feel welcome and safe. It was a very pleasant stay and felt like good value for money. We'd definitely recommend the hotel.

The rooms were huge, and there's a nice indoor pool, but that's about where the positives end. I stayed two nights with my family and was disappointed within half an hour of arriving. This is one of the biggest hotels in Nuwara Eliya, yet service felt nonexistent. We called three times and then complained at reception, but the room still wasn't cleaned. The room service menu looked great, but nothing was available. For my kid, they offered only curd to eat with rice, not one dish or curry. The staff seemed lost, and it felt like they focused on large groups and didn't care about individual travellers. Both mornings we got exactly the same breakfast, including the desserts and breads. A very off-putting experience. I'm attaching photos to show this isn't a fake review. We were there.
