Zion

The bathroom was the main thing that bothered me. I was fine with it being a simple wet room, but there was a lot of black mold, especially around the windows and on the shelf by the sink. It didn’t feel clean enough to leave a toothbrush there. We stayed in room 2. The rooms share a balcony walkway overlooking town, and our room was clean and comfortable. The bed was good, WiFi worked well most of the time, and the water pressure was great with plenty of hot water. The owners were so welcoming and friendly that I was torn between giving this 3 or 4 stars, and went with 4 in the end. It was easy to arrange tuk tuks and cars for drop-offs and pickups. The owners also set up a waterfall and tea plantation tour by tuk tuk at a very reasonable price. Walking into town was manageable, but steep, and you’ll want your phone light when it’s dark.

Ann and her husband made the stay for us. They were so welcoming and kind, arranged a bike, had suggestions for places to go, and answered all our questions. The room felt cozy, clean, and warm, and was super comfortable. We’d definitely recommend staying here.

The balcony view was exceptional, and the rooms were perfectly clean with comfortable beds. We loved everything about staying at Zion, especially how Ann and her husband treated us like family. We ate nearly every meal at Zion because Ann's cooking was the best we had in Sri Lanka. That feeling of being part of the family is priceless. I’d strongly recommend Zion to anyone coming to Nuwara Eliya, and would give it more stars if I could.

The owners made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. I had a wonderful, peaceful stay at Zion in Nuwara Eliya. It was very clean and a lovely place to unwind after a day exploring. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
