Mirage Kings Cottage

We came here to get away from the city's noise, and it was a lovely place to unwind, surrounded by greenery and a nice garden. The dinner buffet was excellent and had lots of variety. Our room was very clean and had the necessary amenities, and the staff were friendly and accommodating.

We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, thanks to the friendly, attentive staff. The buffet was another highlight, with plenty of variety and good quality food at every meal. Our comfortable room was well kept, and the heaters made the cold evenings cozy. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with clean gardens and seating areas, plus a dedicated place for activities. From the hotel's excellent location, the panoramic lake view was breathtaking.

The food was among the best we tried on our Sri Lankan holiday, and the service was just as lovely. Everyone was extremely polite and helpful, and the property and its gardens were spotless. We chose the King's Cottage, upstairs from the wooden cottages. From its shared balcony, we could see a little of the lake over the rooftops of the cottages in front. Our long suite had a sitting area with a small pantry, a sleeping area and a bathroom. We loved our one-night stay in this colonial-style property, set on a hillside across the lake inside the local village. There are wooden bungalows, huts and a colonial-style building among beautiful gardens and countless trees. Once inside, it feels like another world.

The gardens are beautiful, and the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The property itself is delightful, with warm staff who were ready to help with anything. We stayed for two nights shortly after a devastating cyclone, while the whole area was clearly going through a very hard time. Even so, we were welcomed with huge hearts.
