Langdale by Amaya Boutique-Hotel

We had a peaceful two-day break, and the kids made the most of the pool, tennis, badminton, mini golf, hikes, chess, and more. The swimming pool was warmed promptly, and the roomy property opened onto a broad valley. The gardens were neatly kept, and the whole place was well maintained. The staff were excellent across reception, waiting, and room service. Meals were great, and the chef and team took special care with the kids’ requests and allergy needs. Even when we were the only guests during the day, we felt secure. It’s easy to reach from Colombo, which is more than 30 minutes before the city that can get too busy on holidays. A note for other guests: please keep your voices down around the pool and in shared spaces so others can enjoy the place too.

We found it easy to slow down and enjoy the quiet here. The hotel sits among tea plantations, with cool mountain air and views all around. Our room was comfortable and elegant, the food was exceptional, and the service felt warm and attentive. Langdale by Amaya made for a beautiful stay in Sri Lanka’s hill country. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful boutique experience.

What made our stay feel impeccable was the superb team looking after us. The property itself is calming and charming, with a heated pool overlooking the tea plantations. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, though a little dated, especially the bathrooms.

We left feeling refreshed and still taken with the place and its kind people. Langdale Boutique Hotel is peaceful, surrounded by lush tea fields and rolling hills, and felt like a lovely place to reconnect with nature. We enjoyed the heated pool, mini golf, and a scenic walk through the plantations to the viewpoint. The welcome was warm from the start. The front desk staff member was friendly and helpful throughout, and took time to explain what the property offered. Waiters and other service staff were attentive and polite. Meals were served with care, and when we celebrated my husband’s birthday, the team went out of their way to make it special with a beautiful cake. We were also sent off with freshly baked cookies to enjoy on the way back. The comfort, hospitality, and scenery made this a memorable getaway.
