The host was kind and ready to help, and his suggestions for hikes and scooter routes included things I probably wouldn’t have thought of on my own. I stayed in the basic single room, which had everything I needed, and the shared lounge was a nice place to relax. Breakfast was delicious, with a beautiful view. Great value for a homestay.

The room was fine, and the host’s wife kindly offered me tea when I arrived. But the experience was frustrating because of the communication and the way my time was handled. I messaged at 10 PM the night before to ask for an early breakfast before my early departure. In the morning I was told it was too late to arrange, which I can understand to a point, but nobody offered an alternative. Later, he offered to wait 30 minutes, which was too long for me. When I asked for the bill, I was also asked to wait, and the host arrived late, delaying my schedule. During a tuk-tuk ride arranged by the host, he repeatedly asked what I was smoking, even after I clearly said several times that it was a cigarette. It felt intrusive and uncomfortable. The stay itself was decent, but the lack of professionalism and time management made it disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially if you’re on a tight schedule or expect respectful, professional service.

The accommodation was great, and I had everything I needed. Breakfast was very good too, with an amazing view over the area. The owner Kalum was especially supportive and helpful with planning activities. I stayed during the cyclone, and honestly couldn’t have been in better hands. Without his help, the whole situation would have been much more frightening. If I’m ever back, I’ll choose this place again.

The host was impolite and seemed more interested in money than in guests’ comfort. I also didn’t feel my privacy was respected. The bedsheets smelled unpleasant, the food wasn’t good, and the place was uncomfortably cold. Hygiene standards were poor, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

I really enjoyed my stay at Lassana Villa. The host was attentive and friendly, helped me plan my two-day itinerary, and even packed breakfast for my early morning train to Ella.
