We loved watching the fog drift through the valleys from the balcony, with rolling tea fields and misty mountains all around Mount Mary Inn. The place gave us the storybook Nuwara Eliya we’d imagined, with old-fashioned charm and modern comforts. The rooms were surprisingly spacious and spotless, and the beds were the softest we found in Sri Lanka after long travel days. Our kids claimed the big living room as their “cloud kingdom,” making pillow forts while we had tea outside. The staff were so kind. They surprised our daughter with a homemade birthday cake and arranged a nearby pony ride. It felt like a warm, elegant British-era home with a Sri Lankan spirit, and was a lovely mountain stay for our family.

The bed was unbelievably comfortable, and the Smart TV worked well. It was easy to walk into town, or have food delivered if you’d rather stay in. Everything was clean, with no bugs, and the shower was hot. I’m so glad I booked here, the price was affordable and great value. I’d stay again and recommend it.

The inn was peaceful and close to the town centre. Our room had plenty of space and a comfortable bed, and we could use a shared kitchen with free tea, coffee, and filtered drinking water, plus a shared living and dining area. I liked the decor, which reminded me of a seaside B&B in England. For what we paid, we had no complaints at all and would happily stay again.

The rooms are pretty decent, but there are so many rules, more than at a five-star place. The owner lives on the first floor, so privacy is limited. There’s only one floor for guests, and it can hold 20 people, but they charge extra for each person after 10. The owner doesn’t show respect toward the guests.

The location is close to everything but still quiet. We had a really good stay, with a great room and kitchen, and the staff were very kind.
