Pedro View Homestay

We stayed two nights at Pedro View Homestay and had an amazing time. Christoffer and his wife are very kind and relaxed. It’s a great location if you’re hiking Pekoe Trail stage 22.

Cristopher and his wife were wonderful, kind hosts who took great care of us during our couple of days at Pedro View. The room was very clean, and the bed really comfortable. We had a cozy, fantastic stay and will miss them! Breakfast included fruit, roti, egg, bread, homemade jam, and tomato tree juice made from their own tree. We stayed for dinner twice after walking the last two stages of the Pekoe trail. They made several delicious Sri Lankan dishes, keeping them non-spicy as we’d asked. The first night we had rice with lots of sides, including sweet and sour chicken, peas, daal, beans, coconut sambal, cauliflower, and the best eggplant dish we’ve ever tried. The next evening they made a different dinner so we wouldn’t repeat, with beef curry, potato curry, and vegetable noodles. Everything was delicious!

The room and bathroom were spacious, comfortable, and clean, and the owners made us feel right at home. They welcomed us with delicious tea and biscuits, then made a tasty rice and curry for dinner. We chatted a lot, and they gave us good advice about things to do in the city and which tea to buy. I definitely recommend staying here if you want good food and a home away from home 🥰😋

The stop right across the road makes getting to the city bus station easy, and the location also works really well for finishing Pekoe trail stage 22, a hike through tea plantations that I highly recommend. The room is basic, but the hosts are very friendly and gave us useful ideas for things to do in town. Dinner is worth trying; breakfast could be better.
