Princess Bungalows

The building is really beautiful and interesting, and our room was comfortable with enough blankets to keep us warm. The hot water was great. The staff were really friendly, the location was great, and breakfast was amazing. They even made us a vegetarian version.

The bed was comfortable, and the garden out front is a peaceful spot. It’s also under a 10-minute downhill walk into town. Still, compared with other budget homestays we tried, this didn’t feel like good value. The hostel is very worn and needs serious maintenance. Rooms all open onto the same corridor, so late arrivals can make it noisy. Breakfast was limited and not very tasty.

We only stayed one night, and came away feeling positive about the place. The rooms have a great atmosphere, and it’s easy to walk from the hotel to the park and town centre. Noise is the downside: every room connects to the hallway, so loud guests can be heard.

The room was spacious and nice, and the old British house has a quiet feel. It’s more than a century old. Some people may find it less comfortable, or not as clean as they’d like.
