Private Villa by the Tea Estate

I really appreciated the service here. We had extra dietary requirements, and they provided for them without us even asking. I also accidentally paid too much, and the owner and management team reimbursed the difference. That says a lot about their honesty and integrity. The hosts were incredible, it was very baby friendly, and for me this is 100% the best place to stay in Sri Lanka.

Shameera looked after us so well from the minute we arrived, greeting us with tea and snacks and helping arrange food. We could have breakfast at a time that suited us, and the morning walk through the nearby tea fields was a lovely extra. The villa is quiet and peaceful. Just know you’ll need a tuk-tuk to get to the city centre.

There’s lots of room in this villa, spread over three floors, and it was spotlessly clean. Looking out over the tea plantation made the place feel peaceful. The host was super friendly and even picked up takeaway for us when we decided to stay in that night. It had everything we needed.

The road up to the property is narrow, so arriving by tuk-tuk is probably best. Once there, the house is extremely clean and equipped to a very high standard. Its interior, designed by an interior architect, gives it a warm, stylish feel. We were welcomed by Amal with tea and cake. Later, he surprised us with snacks and some great places to eat. The next morning, he showed us around the tea plantation and explained everything in detail. Breakfast was delicious and came at the time we preferred. The setting is beautiful, right among the tea plantations, and town is only a short tuk-tuk ride away. We had a wonderful stay and would happily come back. Highly recommended.
