Sincere Wilderness

Rain fell the whole time we were there, so the comfortable sitting and dining area was especially welcome. The hosts were absolutely wonderful and met all our needs. Our room was a good size, with the beds on a mezzanine floor; the bathroom was small but worked fine, and had a gas shower. The host offered dinner both nights, and the curries were delicious with a nice variety. Breakfast was plentiful and a delight, Sri Lankan style. A lovely place to stay.

The room was so cute and cozy, with an amazing view. Our hosts made us feel incredibly welcome and cooked some of the best food we had in Sri Lanka. Don’t miss the breakfast or dinner. We loved staying here.

Dinner was available at a reasonable price, and the owners were very helpful. We stayed in the annex, not the chalet. The room was pleasant, with the shower room next door, and although there was no AC, this part of the country is cooler. Getting into town takes a bit of a hike along the usual narrow, winding roads, which seems common in Sri Lanka. The town itself disappointed us, though there are more historic places just beyond it. A good, cheaper base for exploring Little England.

May was cold and rainy when we visited, so bring warmer clothes if you're staying in Nuwara Eliya. We had a great time at Sincere Wilderness Chalet. Romeni, Grace and their family welcomed us warmly and shared lots about the area. They also made delicious breakfast and dinner. Our room was spacious and clean, with a hot shower in the bathroom. We can definitely recommend staying here!
