Thuring's Holiday Bungalow

I stayed five nights with this family of three, a couple and their lovely son. They live downstairs and rent the upstairs to tourists. I liked the place a lot. It's in a good location, a 14-minute walk from Lake Gregory. The room was spacious and clean, with a balcony, and the bed and bedding were very soft and clean. There is also a bright, spacious living room upstairs, so you don't have to stay in your room if you don't want to go out. They offer breakfast and dinner for a fee. Both the food and the price were good. I even think their cooking is better than the nearby five-star hotel.

The owners' family lived downstairs, with three guest bedrooms upstairs, but our privacy was never disturbed. We stayed three nights and four days, and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and there was free parking. The city is just a five-minute drive away. The rooms and washrooms were clean, with blankets provided and heaters available on request. It's a cost-effective place and good value for money. The TV quality could be improved a little. We highly recommend it, especially if you're out during the day and returning in the evening to rest.

The hosts were so kind, and the place was perfectly clean. We had the best shower of our trip in Sri Lanka, and breakfast was good.

It's not in the city center, but easy to reach by tuktuk. The whole place was very clean, including the rooms, and you take your shoes off before coming inside. My stay was absolutely fine. The family who owns it were helpful and respectful, assisting with everything from transportation and vegan dinner to the other information I needed to plan my trip.
