At 20 dollars a night, the room costs a decent amount, but the condition was miserable. The bedsheets for tourists were torn and stained, the kettle was rusty, and the bathroom smelled foul. There was no hot water, and opening the bathroom door felt like opening a sewage tank. Top Terrace Cottage calls itself a 4 star place, but it doesn’t even feel like a budget hotel. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Don’t waste your money, especially since its location makes it hard to find another hotel easily.

Up above the concrete jungle, the view brings a striking sense of clarity. The cold city lines seem to fade, and you feel connected again to the pulse of real life. Highly recommended 👌

During my srilanka trip, I noticed they take names quite literally. Top terrace really is up on a hill, with clouds there to greet you. I loved the place. Bring some winter clothes, whatever season you visit!

Four stays in, Top terrace hotel is still my go-to. I keep coming back for the calm atmosphere, which is great for relaxing, and the comfortable, well-maintained rooms. The staff are always friendly and attentive, and the service has been excellent every time. The food’s delicious and satisfying too. I’d highly recommend it for a peaceful, enjoyable stay in Nuwara Eliya! ❤️
