It’s affordable and good value, and can accommodate around 15 people. Check-in is at 2 p.m. and checkout at 11 a.m. The place wasn’t as shown on Google Maps and wasn’t very big. There’s a family there who can cook, and they have a BBQ grill, so cooking on it is a good option. Some rooms have carpet, and all the bathrooms have hot water. Cleanliness could be improved, but apart from that it’s worth the price.

The caretaker was kind and even took us by auto to a nearby tea estate and waterfalls. The uphill road to those places is steep and rough, so they’re only reachable by auto. The garden outside was neat and the living room decent, though parking was difficult. But the accommodation we received wasn’t the one we booked. We arrived late at night with family and the owner had changed it without telling us beforehand, then wouldn’t offer the other stay option or a refund. The place we were given had a tiny bedroom and washroom, and wasn’t as good as our booking. Please double-check when you arrive.

Rohan, the caretaker, really made the stay. He was friendly, checked in each day to make sure we were happy, recommended nearby attractions and cooked meals that were better than most food around. We were surprised by the flavour and presentation, so try at least one meal from him. After our long trip from Australia, his care made a difference. The place has a lovely view and is clean, though it’s a little old and could use some refurbishing. We’d stay again as long as Rohan is there.

We’ll be back. It’s a cozy place with a lovely garden, and the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The guys cooked great food for us and even put on a BBQ when we asked.

We were very disappointed with how they handled our booking. We reserved Whiteford holiday bungalow on 08/07/2020 for two days, 11th and 12th July 2020, paid Rs.5000 in advance and received confirmation. Then on 09.07.2020 they called to cancel the confirmed booking, saying someone else had booked it.
