Yala Wild Hut

Over four months in Sri Lanka, I visited the Yala Wildlife Refuge several times. This time, the stay was luxurious, with quality tents, modern bathrooms, and delicious meals, including fresh fruit juice. The wildlife safari in Yala Park was especially exciting. I saw a leopard for the first time in my life, along with many elephants, antelopes, crocodiles, buffaloes, and a wide range of birds. Thanks again to Mr. Dhammika and Team.

We were three sisters staying for two nights. The service and food were excellent, and Lensi was a fantastic guide. Our driver was great too, with over 25 years of experience in Yala. The location works well for Block 1, and it’s also worth going a little farther to Block 5. Thank you!

Wild Hut was a wonderful stay. Lalin and the team looked after us so well and did their best to meet all our wishes. We were right in the wilderness, with monkeys, birds, and rabbits close by. The meals were delicious, and the safari was unique and well organized. Our driver knew just where to go to find animals. It was quite hot in the tent at night, so we wished it had AC. One tent is currently being upgraded to have it. A pool would also have been nice for the price we paid. Even so, we’d definitely return. Special thanks to Lalin! :)

We had the best meals of our trip during our two nights here. On the first day, we were shown around the quiet, lovely grounds and the produce they grow for the kitchen. The staff were incredibly hospitable. Our safari was another highlight. Thanks to our guide and driver, Isuru and Ishan, and their knowledge and expertise, we saw leopards and elephants up close. They really tried their best to give us a great experience, and we appreciated how sincere they were. All around, it was a wonderful stay.
