Aliya Aliya Hotel Hikkaduwa

The rooms were new, clean, and tidy, and the family helped whenever we asked. They welcomed us with cocktails and showed us around. Breakfast was incredibly good, too. The owner was especially helpful and even showed us Colombo. The guesthouse is close to a quiet beach and the good A2 restaurant. If you want the busier beach, it’s only a tuk-tuk ride away. I’m very grateful to this hospitable family.

Hi, I own aliya aliya hotel and need to respond to two reviews because they are damaging my hotel's name. First, I don't like giving accommodation to thief couples. I don't remember the exact date this couple came, but they booked one non AC room for 4 nights, and I gave it to them and welcomed them warmly. After 2 nights, my wife saw that our AC machine was working and told me. I checked, and it really was working. I went to the room where the couple was staying and knocked. They asked me to give them 5 minutes, so I waited. During that time, they switched off the AC machine at the plug. When they opened the door, the AC was working. I couldn't believe they'd turned on the AC machine without the remote control. I asked why they were cheating like that. They had nothing to say because they knew they had done wrong. I told them they could stay, but not to do it again. They didn't respect me and talked as if they were right. I never thought that kind of cheap 3rd class thief couple would write a review like that. I think they have no self. Thank you so much. I need to say I never sack any guest and always treat them my best. I don't like calling any guest this, but I'm sorry I have to. Thank you. The beach was a highlight: it was beautiful, uncrowded, with clean ocean water and sun loungers always available. Hikkaduwa is only a 5-minute tuk-tuk ride away for Turtle Beach, shops, and restaurants. The hotel grounds were peaceful, and the hosts were kind and helpful. They picked us up from the bus and waited with us for our airport transfer when our flight was delayed. Breakfast was tasty, with fresh juices, eggs, sausages, toast, fruit, and even cakes. Our room had Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a fan, a good shower, and towels. I would have liked a change of towels and bed linen. There was a kettle in the kitchen area but just one mug. When we asked for spoons and plates, they brought them without any fuss. We loved our stay and recommend the hotel.

We really didn’t want to leave. The hosts walked us to our transfer and waited with us, and the whole stay felt like visiting friends. They looked after us warmly and we’d love to come back. From the start they were friendly and quick to help with anything, and welcomed us with juice. Breakfast changed each day, with fresh juices, fruit, and local food. The grounds were cleaned several times a day, and the pool was always clean and looked after. Room cleaning was available on request, and towel changes were no problem. The ocean is close, and the hosts have the cutest dog in the world. In the evenings, it was lovely to sit outside with tea and enjoy how peaceful it was.
