Hotel Sudu Araliya Hotel

The garden and the view were lovely, and the service staff were friendly and helpful. But the rest of our stay at Hotel Sudu Araliya was a major letdown, far from the star-class experience we expected. The rooms were dirty, with stains on the furniture and curtains, and a terrible toilet smell made ours uncomfortable. We spoke with Front Office Manager Mr. Dilan before arriving to ask about a better Full Board option, but what was offered didn't feel worth the price. We paid for Full Board, yet ate only breakfast and lunch there. The buffet was cold, tasteless, and poor quality, so we went elsewhere for dinner. The package was not worth the money. I've stayed in several star-class hotels, and some non-star places were cleaner and served better food. I expected much more from Team Araliya. A total waste of money, and I'm sharing this so future guests can make an informed choice. 👎🏻

We stopped at Hotel Sudu Araliya on April 29th at around 4:00 PM while heading to Polonnaruwa. The buffet had finished, so we asked if we could order à la carte. The staff were kind, courteous, and attentive, and our food arrived faster than we expected. It was clean, well-prepared, and delicious. We stayed at the White Temple Hotel on the 20th and 21st, and came away feeling we'd been visiting relatives. Nimesha was so helpful with our stay, and her warm hospitality made my wife and me very happy. The room was beautiful and clean, and the food was delicious, with a variety of Sri Lankan dishes, including salty and sour flavors. Staff at every level were friendly, attentive, and listened to our needs and concerns. We've stayed at many hotels in Sri Lanka, and this one impressed us. Thanks to everyone, from management onward.
