The hosts were amazing and helped with everything. Their breakfast and dinner cooking was great, and they can lend you bikes for visiting the archaeological sites or touring the lake. The guesthouse sits in the owners’ garden, with very nice rooms and a lovely view of the greenery.

The food comes in huge portions, haha, and it’s so good. Breakfast had pancakes, hoppers, egg, rotti, and curry, with typical Sri Lankan dishes for dinner, so definitely go for it. I was traveling alone and felt welcome, like part of the family. Since it was low season, I even got upgraded to the more expensive room at no extra charge. They dropped me at the station for my train, too. Highly recommended, and I’ll surely come back.

The rooms were very clean, and the owner and his wife were friendly and helpful. It’s a nice, safe place to stay when visiting Polonnaruwa, very close to the ruins. Highly recommend.
